November Bucket List - Rad Maverix

Ya’ll, how is October octOVER, already?! One of the best months of the year lasted for like 2 seconds. So many exciting things happened last month and I even got to check a few off of my October Bucket List!

  1. Log 40 miles; running or walking – Can I check this one off twice? I originally had a goal back in September to log 40 miles and failed miserably (only logged 12), for the month of October, I logged more than 70 miles! So I basically made up for September, right?

  2. 2 random acts of kindness – I can only check this one off half-ass. I made breakfast and brought in for my coworkers one Friday morning. I call them Breakfast Pigs in a Blanket and they were legit. Crescent rolls. honey maple sausage links. egg. cheese. These will change your life.

  3. Sort through all of my clothes and donate anything that hasn’t been worn in a year – Not even a quarter of the way done. Sad Face. (See my post about conquering the closet here)

  4. Sign up for a race (at least 5k) and complete it! – DONE and DONE. I completed the Run the Streets Woolaroc 8k and the Neewollah 10k. I’m patting myself on the back for these two. I beat my personal best records on both and I finished alive and on both feet.

  5. Read up on DSLR manual mode. – Yep, didn’t do this. I guess I was too busy getting my mileage in?! ;)

November Bucket List:

  1. Finish sorting through my closet

  2. 2 random acts of kindness. You can do it, Merrissa, you can do it!

  3. Operation Get Fit For Vegas. Is that a thing? If not, I’m making it a thing. We’re going to Vegas in a month and I want to feel my best. I’m aiming to keep my nutrition and workouts on point.

  4. DIY: fall-inspired garland

  5. Make homemade dog treats

  6. Log another 40 miles; running or walking!

  7. Try 2 new healthy recipes

October Bucket List - Rad Maverix

Last month I created a bucket list of activities I wanted to achieve for the month to help me live a more meaningful life. I had some wins in September and some huge fails!

September’s Bucket List Review

  • Host a successful Housewarming + Birthday Party - I’m pretty certain everyone had a great time! Plus these delicious cupcakes from my party.

  • Try a new recipe – I made this mega easy Chicken Tortilla Soup

  • Log at least 40 miles; running or walking – Ha-ha! I knew this was going to be a stretch but I only got in 12.9 miles. :) However, we’re only 5 days into October and I’ve already logged more than 12 miles!

  • Research the benefits of lemons + limes – Yes, be expecting a post this coming month. You'll be drinking it every morning, like me!

  • Sort through all of my clothes and donate anything that hasn’t been worn in a year – Nope. Haven’t even thought about this yet.

  • Count my blessings from the previous week every Sunday – I got a new bullet journal and it has helped me become more accountable and grateful for my blessings.

  • Make s’ mores over a bonfire or fire pit – Was not going to miss this one!

  • 2 random acts of kindness – sadly, no L

  • Explore a new junk store – Yes, went to a few different junk stores in Collinsville, OK.

  • Wake up early on a Saturday or Sunday and meditate or try a yoga routine – Completed this and it was great. I meditated on a Saturday morning and after that I felt like I had a ton more energy for the rest of the day. I wish I had the time/motivation to do this every single morning but when you already have to be at work by 7am and you live 30 minutes away...you're talking 4-4:30 in the morning...

This month I’m going to not be so ambitious and limit myself to only doing 5 bucket list items. Here they are:

  1. Log 40 miles; running or walking

  2. 2 random acts of kindness

  3. Sort through all of my clothes and donate anything that hasn’t been worn in a year

  4. Sign up for a race (at least 5k) and complete it!

  5. Read up on DSLR manual mode.

Hola, another month has come and gone. August was a very busy and eventful month this year. We hosted a successful Fair & Rodeo and traveled back and forth to our sister Refinery for my day job working on a (huge) project that should be rolling out the 2nd quarter of 2016. We had an outstanding photo shoot with Kaci Jo Bute Photography for Rad Maverix Brand’s Fall Line—I’m still living off of all the energy from that day! Other action-packed news: we moved to a new home and rescued a dog.
